Information:

These 3 tracks were a demo that we created, recorded on a 4 track cassette recorder in Nicky’s front room.

We recorded lots of tracks but only these have survived since I got rid of all of my cassettes - which perhaps I now regret, we did a good version of ‘Mustang Sally’!

Text from album cover:

The photo on the front cover is the shop called ‘Harvey’s Intrinsic Boomerang’. It was in this said establishment where I learned about the plight of the Concrete Beatle.

I had only gone in to stock up on Broccoli for a lunch fine snack on my journey to where I was going. And just above the Broccoli shelf was a poster making me aware of the poor endangered Concrete Beatle. Little did I know just how much their sorry story would profoundly effect me and those brave souls willing to take up the challenge of helping them in the unique way that they need.

The Concrete Beatle is a wonderful specimen who feeds excelusively upon concrete, hence the name. However, strange mating habits and population migrations have left their evolutionary scars on this poor afflicted insect. The Concrete Beatle is now born without a mouth and as a consequence is unable to feed upon its most desired protein supplement, concrete.

But thanks to the courage of a few local people who gnaw away ceaselessly on bricks and other cement products (with no regard for their own dental health) and via a complex set of tubes and dials are they able to appease the dietary requirements of this most wonderful creature. Don’t be reading this garbage…

Information:

Kashmir Gyro was a 4 piece rock/blues band that I played bass in for about 6 months during 1991-1992.

I digitised this album of songs in 2001. They were originally recorded on a Tascam 4-track cassette machine using 2 PZM microphones attached to the wall of the bedsit where we had set the instruments up. It’s not the best quality but captures the moments nicely. I never understood how we got away with making so much noise in such a built up area. It was a strange time…

Information:

I wrote these songs while living in Cumbria, and recorded the acoustic tracks on a digital 4-track recorder belonging to my good friend, Jodi - the other tracks are musical projects that I did using Acid software on the PC.

All of my music has been a mix of experimenting with musical ideas while getting out how I feel about things. The last track “Telephone Project”, was a mini project and concept about how the future might turn out - I think it’s proving to be rather insightful!

The Machine Gun on the cover was abstracted from a photo I took of an exhibition that was in Barrow-in-Furness at the time. I can’t now remember the details - but it doesn’t really matter!

Information:

This was my second album - all recorded on a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. I duplicated about 20 copies and gave them as Christmas presents to my friends and family. My mum liked it, so that makes it OK! It’s interesting listening to these after 20 years - it was a different time back then…
